Poverty is an epidemic which has created a huge dent to human race. More than 50% of the world population lives on less than $2.50 a day. People can’t provide even one proper meal to their children. The income differentials are widening across the globe. What are we doing to reduce this widening? What are we doing to eliminate this menace of poverty? Why can’t we produce enough food for everyone? Why can’t everyone have a proper shelter? Is it the greed in us, the cause for it? Why can’t we help each other and work together to eradicate poverty? Poverty is a menace to humanity. The causes are innumerable. Currently, there are no real solutions. Poverty is a major Global Issue. More than half the world population lives on less than $2.50 a day. At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. The poorest 40% of the world’s population accounts for 5% of global income while the richest 20% accounts for 75% of world income. Poverty affects every nation for a reason. There is no silver bullet to eliminate poverty. No one solution work in every country. There is no one solution to eradicate poverty. Governments should create laws to help bring people above poverty. Rich countries with abundant natural resources should help out poor countries. Benefit systems should be established in all countries. People should unite globally to eliminate this menace. Currently, most of the work is being done by NGOs and non-profit organizations. Instead, governments, people from every walk of life, political leaders and organizations, every human should unite and help each other to eliminate poverty. All of a sudden it went black under my closed eyelids; my face went cold again. As I opened my eyes I saw black clouds form out of nowhere, blocking the sun. As I looked around I saw a huge black jeep sitting there on the road. I saw them theyre coming! I could hear their footstep thump, thump, thump feet heavy like an elephant. I could feel my heart pounding like Ive ran a mile. Thinking to myself what should I do. Hide? Run away?. There was no time, I had to hide. I run as fast as possible, like a dog chasing behind me. I run upstairs in my room and into my wardrobe leaving a little gap to hear what happens and what they do. Suddenly I hear baam! Theyve broke the door open and started searching for me. I heard them talking for a miniut. Then one of the men says ya two search up their, and we search down here. Its silent. I dont know what to do. Suddenly I hear lots of noises. I knew they started searching for me. I could hear them throwing everything around. All I could hear are really loud noises: Clang! Bang! Boom! Baam! Bhoosh! Did you find anything, asked the one of the men. Nope nothing yet, he shouts back. After a 5 miniut search one of the men comes to my room; I peek through the little gap, and saw him. Maybe he is searching for something, maybe some kind of documents. After two miniut of searching, he spots me, or maybe to check the wardrobe. He slowly walks towards me. I was scared, angry and in agony pain. I know that scream, even if it came from any part of the world. It was my wife. I dont know what they are going to do to her.
